Eudunda Lochton W1(AI)

Eudunda Lochton, Jnr & Grand Champ, 2003 Angus National Expo
(CA Future Direction USA x Merridale Wilcoola S198 AI ET)
In 2003 we purchased Eudunda Lochton, Junior & Grand Champion Bull at the Angus National Expo in Wodonga as our Foundation Sire. At 18 months of age, Eudunda Lochton won from over 80 bulls, with the Judge, Mr Michael Gadd, describing him as “a fine example of the breed, a well balanced animal with all the attributes he would look for in a sire”. Eudunda Lochton was bought by Lochton Angus Stud as a calf at foot of his mother, Merridale Wilcoola S198 for an Australian record price of $45,000 after the pair won Supreme Interbreed Exhibit at 2001 Royal Melbourne Show at their first showing.
Eudunda Lochton has been instrumental in building our current herd and is the sire or grandsire of the majority of our cow herd. He proved himself to be a predominant bull producing lovely maternal daughters and muscular, easy doing sons. His progeny have performed exceptionally well in the show ring, winning multiple broad ribbons and interbreed events at major shows. Eudunda Lochton tested free of AM, NH and CA. He is one of the few sons of Future Direction to have tested free of ALL THREE genetic conditions.

At the 2009 Sydney Royal Easter Show, a sire's progeny group by Eudunda Lochton placed second out of eight entries. In 2010, his sire's progeny group was awarded first place (pictured below).
2010 1st Place: Sires Progeny by Eudunda Lochton
